Sahrena London teaches physics, chemistry and biology in the learning center program. During her time there, she was the recipient of the Outstanding Biology Teacher Award for New York State from the National Association of Biology Teachers. While working at Solomon Schechter in Manhattan, she earned an Advanced Master’s in Education at Columbia Teachers College. in Biology and Master’s in Education, with a specialization in Science Education from the University of Pennsylvania. They arrived back at the school at eight fifteen. Right after the program, the juniors loaded the buses and took the nine hour drive back to Frisch.


To finish off the weekend, on Sunday morning there was a final program the students were shown the video montage that Rabbi Weinberg had made of their trip and were given freezefest sweatpants as a gift. Shabbat was followed by a Saturday night snow tubing trip. Then, after getting to the hotel, putting their bags in their rooms and having dinner, the grade went bowling at a nearby bowling alley.įriday’s activities consisted of dog sledding and touring the Ice Hotel, after which the 11th graders then returned to the hotel to spend shabbat together as a grade. On arriving in Quebec but before reaching the hotel, the 11th graders stopped to walk around Old Quebec City for a half hour. The bus ride up to Quebec took nine hours, with a brief stop in the middle for a mincha break. Juniors were split onto four buses two for boys and two for girls. On Thursday, March 23, students were required to come into school early for a special davening at six-thirty, so that the busses could leave at seven fifteen. Juniors spent the weekend of February 23-26 on the annual Freezefest trip to Quebec.
